چکیده
In this work, one-dimensional NiHPO 4 nanotubes are successfully fabricated on nickel foam by hydrothermal reaction, in which a dissolution equilibrium between phosphates is controlled tuning the proportion of mixed solvent and amounts KOH. As broken, morphology transfers from solid nanowires to hollow nanotubes. The resulting 1D exhibit good electrocatalytic activity stability oxygen evolution reaction (OER) hydrogen (HER). Notably, water-splitting voltage 1.62 V at current density 10 mA cm ?2 obtained an electrolyzer setup assembled using as cathode anode, demonstrating promising catalysts for overall water splitting. Moreover, revealed mechanism forming tube can be extended fabricate other metal with structures. • Ni foam-supported catalyst prepared without any template. evolving based proposed. shows bifunctional performance solitting present work provides strategy explore efficient electrocatalysts.

With the socio economic development, people have paid more and more attention to energy source problems, especially to clean and renewable energy such as hydrogen. It is appealing but still challenging to find or design an appropriate catalyst which is inexpensive and efficient for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in the same electrolyte. In this wo...

Photo corrosion of titania nanotubes within water splitting reaction
Titania nanotubes (TNT) prepared by anodization of Ti foils were used for water splitting in a standalone cell. The concentration polarization between the anode side (1M NaOH) and cathode side (0.5 M H2SO4) ensured that the water splitting reaction could take place with no external bias and separate H2 and O2 evolution could be achieved. The destructi...

متن کاملEfficiency limits for photoelectrochemical water-splitting
Theoretical limiting efficiencies have a critical role in determining technological viability and expectations for device prototypes, as evidenced by the photovoltaics community's focus on detailed balance. However, due to their multicomponent nature, photoelectrochemical devices do not have an equivalent analogue to detailed balance, and reported theoretical efficiency limits vary depending on...
